Pat and Gina Neely are getting divorced. Massachusetts fans may know the couple from a popular cooking show called Down Home with the Neelys. The divorce comes after 20 years of marriage.
The couple has decided to end their marriage due to irreconcilable differences. The Neelys jointly own a restaurant, cookbooks and their TV show. They also have two adult daughters. In an announcement on a recent Friday, the couple said that this was a difficult decision, but it’s also for the best. According to reports, the Neelys still proceeded to film their TV cooking show even though they were having issues with their marriage.
In addition, they have actually been separated for the last two years. It is unknown what will happen to the cooking show, but it’s expected that the pair will be working separately. The couple further stated that they will be focusing on their individual brands. It is not known how the couple plans on dividing their assets in this case.
Even though this is a celebrity divorce case that may have a number of assets at stake, hopefully they are able to agree with each other to have an amicable divorce. Spouses who are able to compromise with each other can avoid an enormous amount of frustration and ultimately save time in the courtroom. However, not every divorce is amicable, and many spouses may have disputes over the division of assets. When litigation is the only option, the family court system in Massachusetts determines an appropriate settlement of all issues.
